What happens at a Bricks 4 Kidz After-School Program?

 

Each session consists of one 2-hour class per week for 6 weeks. 

At the end of day school bell, students assemble with their belongs at the designated school classroom where they are greeted by a Bricks 4 Kidz Facilitator and start the first hour with 30 minutes of snack and free play time.   Then the real fun begins…

We learn…

Our trained, screened Bricks 4 Kidz® Facilitators lead an interactive discussion related to that day’s model, using materials designed by educators to teach concepts across a variety of subject areas, with instructional content that includes concepts of friction, gravity, torque, scale, gears, axles and beams. Students will learn about everything from gears, torque and friction, to geography, space exploration, weather and MORE!

We build…

Students will then design and construct machines, buildings and other models using LEGO® bricks and our proprietary designs and plans. They’ll experience the hands-on fun of model building, from concept to completion. All of our models are designed by Bricks 4 Kidz® model designers, so you won’t find them on the shelves of your local toy store.  And once they’ve completed their model build, students will have the opportunity to use their creativity to add to, and personalize, their model build… and of course, they’ll be able to play with their new creation! 

We play…

To end each class, students will participate in carefully chosen activities that align with the day’s topic and reinforce S.T.E.M. concepts.  They’ll think its FUN, we know it’s EDUCATIONAL!  Finally, games, challenges and more free-play time rounds out the last hour as they await their ride home and look forward to next week!

 

 At the end of each 6-week session, students enjoy a small celebration and receive a Certificate of Achievement and themed B4K Brag Tag to collect and trade.
