5 Robots That are Changing the World

 

Robots often seem like something from a far away sci-fi fantasy, but we actually use them every day to make our lives simpler and more efficient! Some robots’ jobs are small like robotic vacuum cleaners and self-checkout machines at grocery stores, but others are changing the world! These five innovative robots fall into the latter category:

 

• daVinci

The daVinci System is the standard for robot-assisted surgery. This robotic system has revolutionized the medical field by simplifying previously complex surgical procedures while speeding up healing times and reducing the risk of infection. 

 

• Atlas

Designed by Boston Dynamics, Atlas is a humanoid robot programmed to assist with search-and-rescue and disaster response missions. These missions are incredibly dangerous for people, but Atlas can do them with ease without risk of injury. It can assemble very small devices and work alongside humans to make their jobs easier and less dangerous.

The Ozobot is a mobile robot designed to help teach coding and robotics to people of all ages. It can play educational games with its users and reacts to colors and lines drawn on paper or surfaces like an iPad screen that it can move around on. Robots like Oxobot give us a glimpse into the future of STEM education!

 

• Ekso Bionics
