Q: My child is in Pre-K can he or she join a B4K program?

A- Yes, we offer a pre-k program for children 3-4. If your child is turning 5 soon please read the Q&A.

We do not recommend that your pre- schooler is blended with all other grades as the pre-k program is tailored and individualized for these students.

Give us a call 786-208-2559 if you have any questions.

Q: My child is turning 5 soon can he or she join a B4K program?
Yes, we have tailored our themes so your senior 4 year old can experience building like a big kid (lol). Seriously, we know your child has a spark to learn new things and we are here to help guide you.

We recommend your 4 year old join our seasonal camps as a way to transition into our STEM after school program. Typically, if your soon to be 5 has some experience building with LEGOS at home or in school they will be able to follow through with the instructor.

We are now virtual! Do not hesitate and register today.

Q: Who teaches B4K classes?
A- All of our classes are taught by Bricks 4 Kidz instructors who have been screened by the State of Florida and trained on how to deliver the Bricks 4 Kidz curriculum. Teachers also have a disposition for loving LEGO bricks.

Instructors are background checked and cleared through the local and federal state officials.

Q: How do I enroll my child in a B4K class?
A- We are now virtual!

We offer our after school enrichment program directly at your child’s school. Give us a call today to inquire if we already have a Bricks 4 Kidz program at your child’s school. Don’t have it at their school? Then contact us to inquire on how we can place one of our programs into your school starting with a FREE trial class! Everyone loves FREE!

Other than schools, some of our classes are hosted at other locations (library, community center, etc.). For those classes you may have to contact the locations directly for enrollment. If you find yourself confused about doing that and need assistance to sign up for any of our classes in any location do not hesitate to contact us today.

Q: How much is a B4K class cost?
A- Each class is competitively priced and is based on the type of program (after school, camp, in-school field trips, & much more) being offered, so pricing may vary. We know what a difficult job it is for parents to find a fairly priced after-school program for their child and our goal at Bricks 4 Kidz is for your child to enjoy learning, building, and playing with LEGO bricks.

View our schedule today for up to date details on pricing for each program.

Q: When and how long is a B4K after school class?
A – Normally, classes run once per week for one hour throughout the school year in different locations. This is not always the case as our times can vary from location to location with our schedule usually listed on our class schedule page in the MENU bar up top.
Q: What age ranges are B4K classes intended for?
A – The majority of our classes are intended for elementary aged children (5+).  That doesn’t mean we ignore the littler ones as we have a DUPLO preschool curriculum for ages 3-5. We also instruct the older kids through our Mindstorms EV3 Advanced Robotics (ages 9+). Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds.
Q: What does my child work on in a B4K class?
A – Children build a new model each week after the teacher has provided an interactive lesson on the day’s build. Over the course of four to six weeks, depending on the session at your school, the level of difficulty for each build will increase making each build that much better than the one before it. Students will have the skills to successfully build each model within the allotted time.

Kids will learn how the individual pieces operate along with the concepts of gear ratio, torque, friction, and be able to expand their model and collaborate with others during this time. This initiates a creative spark in your child’s imagination and the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math come to life. Children will have the last fifteen minutes of the class to free play with LEGO® bricks and share their creations with one another.

Q: Does my child get to keep what they build?
A – No. This is a very common question we get. Children are asked to disassemble their model before the end of class as they will be using the kits again in the following weeks.  Most classes allow participants the opportunity to build and keep a mini-figure during the class series as a souvenir. The models built weekly are created using specialized kits that is used in different classes throughout the school year and even during our summer camps.
Q: What is the teacher to student ratio in a B4K class?

A – Our maximum ratio is 12 students to 1 teacher and 20:2 (if class is full).

We ask that all families practice all safety illness prevention protocols (wear a mask if needed /wash hands frequently) at home and before visiting our classrooms.

Please follow our COVID safety guidelines information sheet.

Q: What topics or themes do B4K offer?
A – Our programs are educator-approved to deliver valuable, multi-sensory learning experiences that correlate to a variety of cross-disciplinary curriculum objectives. Bricks 4 Kidz themes are designed to complement what students are learning in class. Popular themes include Famous Buildings, Inventions, and Transportation. Our themes integrate STEM concepts such as simple machines and laws of motion.
Q: How long is a B4K field trip?
A – In School Field Trips- we go to your school! – for elementary aged students are 90 minutes and includes 2 lessons/builds.  Generally schools opt to have us work with multiple classes back-to-back as this is more cost effective for them and allows for a more fun environment. We are happy to arrange a field trip that meets your learning and budgeting needs.
Q: What are the space and supply requirements for schools?
A – Bricks 4 Kidz teachers will provide all the supplies necessary for an in-school field trip.  We recommend for students to remain in their classrooms as we rotate with the lesson and build of the day. Our goal is for all students to have the best learning and build experience. Hooray to STEM!
Q: How long are the B4K camps?
A- We have various camps throughout the year during summer, winter, and spring break including on legal holidays (1 -day camps, etc.). Camps are a week long and usually running half a day. These half day camps usually run from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. These times may vary depending on location.
Q: Where will the B4K camps take place?
A- Camps take place in local community centers, churches, schools and we even have at-home camps which are very popular during summer! We also bring the camp to your school or center. Just send us a request 🙂

Benefits of S.T.E.M.

SCIENCE Each model provides kids with a new scientific vocabulary. Lessons that focus on topics such as laws of motion, employ the concept of physical science, requiring children to apply what they’ve learned to their build.
TECHNOLOGY Technology implements the use of science to invent and problem solve. Children 3-13 use their creativity and analytical skills to discover viable solutions to problems presented at the start of each lesson.
ENGINEERING Engineering uses the practical application of science to design and create. Although they may not realize it, kids use engineering skills to construct models, such as bridges, towers and roller coasters.
MATH Children are given the opportunity to invariably utilize math skills as they estimate, count, measure and build with LEGO® Bricks.

We learn, we build, we play with LEGO® Bricks
