Over the past few weeks, LEGOS have been making a comeback and now BRICKS 4 KIDZ is taking them to the next level.
In this week’s “Hometown Hotspot,” WACH FOX travels to crafty Chapin to find out exactly how?
LEGOS are full of color with a variety of shapes and sizes making the options for what you can do endless.
BRICKS 4 KIDZ is now taking them to the next level and turning them into robots.
“You have to go on the Kindle to look at the blocks you need and you have to build it. Then you use the Chromebook to take the stuff you need to make it move,” explains 11-year-old camper Kendall Brown.
Junior Robotics is a five day camp for kids in grades 2 through 6 where a special kit of LEGOS is used and WeDo software provides campers with exclusive sample models for practice.
It all leads up to their big final project.
“As they build robots out of LEGO bricks and then on Friday they will be building custom robots,” explains Billfred Leverette.
Besides learning to better problem solve, Leverette hopes the camper’s experience sparks interest in the areas of science and technology.
“Spark that curiosity and that interest. Get kids in a position where they want to challenge themselves,” adds the BRICKS 4 KIDZ Owner.
Doing LEGOS may just seem fun but it can actually lead to bigger things in the future.
“I always wanted to be a scientist when I grow up and I do sometimes like chemistry,” says 11-year-old camper Ulies Chapman.
And it all starts in crafty Chapin where you will have the most fun that you possibly can have while learning about science.
