First Coding Robotics: A robot that teaches coding principles and skills to children in grades K-2. You don’t need a tablet, smartphone, or computer to program this robot; programs are created by simply laying down a sequence of physical code cards. As the robot drives over the code cards, an OID optical scanner on the bottom of the robot reads the code cards one by one and loads the program. Program the robot to move in different directions, activate its output gear, light up its LED, play sounds, and respond to different function cards. This robot also teaches physical engineering and problem-solving skills through a series of building and coding lessons. Coding Is Fun and Easy! [/expand] [expand title=”Minecraft and First Mechanic Robot (Age 5-9):”] Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world of Minecraft with LEGO® bricks in this fun camp. Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools using LEGO® bricks. Students will face new challenges each day, building models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game. Whether your chicken is crossing the road, spiders have invaded your mine, or zombies are on the loose, this fun camp takes MineCraft to a whole new level with lots of LEGO Bricks and inspiration from the popular game to build on and a full week of learning fun — the Bricks 4 Kidz way! Have you ever imagined what is it like to travel and live on a planet that is different from how life is here on earth? Can you create an innovative solution that would help us to survive in the harsh and unknown environment of all the planets in the solar system? This journey into outer space will force us to explore and to overcome all of the challenges that come with colonizing new worlds In this fun and explorative camp, campers will become space pioneers and will travel on spaceships to different planets to start colonizing new worlds. We will build robots that will assist us in surviving these new harsh and difficult environments. Each day, campers will build and program special robots with innovative designs to overcome all of the obstacles that come with being space adventurers. And in the process, they will acquire and understand the responsibilities of engineers, programmers, designers, and researchers. This camp features models built with LEGO MindStorms EV3 advanced robotics kits. Join us for this space adventure this summer! ———– Microbit Single Board: The BBC micro:bit v2 is a pocket-sized computer .It has 25 red LED lights that can flash messages. There are two programmable tactile buttons, and a touch sensitive logo The micro:bit can even detect motion and tell you which direction you’re heading. It can also use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) to interact with other devices and the Internet. It has microphone input & LED indicator, two programmable tactile buttons, and the touch sensitive logo! On the back of the board you will find the brains of the micro:bit, a 64 MHz, ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller with FPU, 512KB Flash, 128KB RAM and a built-in temperature sensor. Additionally, the back of the micro:bit is populated by an accelerometer, compass, MEMS microphone, speaker, and Bluetooth Smart antenna, as well as a microUSB and two-pin JST connector for different power options. It has 25 gold-tabbed edge pins and five ring connectors (three for digital/analog I/O, two for power and ground) for hooking up external components. Micro:bit has an intuitive app that lets you send your code to your micro:bit over Bluetooth (without using a USB cable).
