Camp Policies and Procedures

Absences:

Please call Bricks 4 Kidz at 804-833-3170 thirty minutes before the camp is due to start and leave a message if your child will be absent. Please be specific, stating your child’s full name. If we do not receive a message from you, we will try to verify the absence by phone.

Sign-in/Sign-out Policy:

Please walk your child into camp and sign him/her in.  You must pick up your child no later than 10 minutes after the camp has ended each day. A Parent/Guardian, or other authorized adult must sign each child in/out of camp every morning and afternoon. The only people that your child will be released to are those listed on your information form. Note: all persons authorized to pick up campers must be at least 16 years of age. If someone other than a parent will pick up your child, please give us prior written notice. If there is an emergency and no one on your list can pick up your child, the primary parent/guardian must call us at 804-833-3170 to allow another adult to pick up the child or send a signed note of authorization with that person.

Late Pick-up:

Ten minutes after the end of camp, we will call the individuals you have authorized to pick up your child. After ten minutes, there will be a late charge fee of $10 for the first five minutes and $5 for each five-minute increment after, payable at the time of pickup. If an emergency arises, please call Bricks 4 Kidz at 804-833-3170 and leave a message that you will be late so we can explain to your child that you are on your way. Please note that repeated late pickups might result in termination from our program.

Age Appropriateness:

Since all camps have at least 2 instructors, we will often divide the students so that they are grouped by age. In this way, one instructor will work with the younger students, while another works with the older ones in the camp. The base projects, lessons, and software used in a camp are the same for all students. We have model instructions that are based on skill level, so while all students are typically building the same model, the older students’ models may be more challenging than those built by the younger students. As the week progresses, the instructors try to introduce models in accordance with the students’ apparent skill level.

Staff:

Bricks 4 Kidz instructors are individuals who have a great interest and ability in teaching Bricks 4 Kidz programs to students in an exciting way. Each instructor is trained in teaching specific lessons involving the themes in the programs. In addition, all instructors go through a criminal history background check.

Do Students Take Home Their Projects?

Since we use our Lego® supplies in classes and camps throughout the year, students do not take home projects or pieces.

Snack Time:

Please send a “Nut Free” Snack and a water bottle with your child daily. In some cases, if there is a severe allergy in the camp, we may not offer a snack time.  You will be made aware of this situation in advance.  Thank you for understanding.

Payment:

During the registration process you can either pay by credit card or if you prefer, you may send a check to: Bricks 4 Kidz 4724 Kimmeridge Drive , Moseley, VA 23120.  All campers must be paid in full by the Friday before the week of camp in order to hold their spot in the camp.

Refund & Transfer Policy:

If you should need to cancel your spot within 2 weeks or more before the starting date of a camp we will refund your money, minus a $25.00 administration fee per session. Cancellation of a program within 1 week of a camp start date is refunded at 50% of the cost, minus a $25.00 administration fee. Once a program has started, there is no refund. All requests for refund must be in writing to [email protected].  Transfers will be accommodated at no additional cost as long as there is room in the camp.

Cancellations:

Bricks 4 Kidz reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment. Upon cancellation, a full refund will be made.

Camp Conduct:

Bricks 4 Kidz reserves the right to release, without refund of program fees, any child whose behavior becomes unmanageable. This action will not be taken without verbal and written warnings. No children will be allowed to intentionally physically harm any other persons or person’s property while camp is in session. Bricks 4 Kidz highly discourages students from bringing any personal Lego® bricks such as mini-figures or personal Lego® models to camp. Bricks 4 Kidz is NOT responsible for damages or loss of any personal property while at a camp.
