In-School Workshops

A Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop uses LEGO® Bricks that kids love, to deliver hands-on lessons correlated to cross-disciplinary curriculum objectives. The Bricks 4 Kidz® approach to learning is imaginative, multi-sensory and fun, creating a dynamic learning experience for your students.

Who are we…..

Bricks 4 Kidz®  is a child enrichment program that teaches building, architecture & engineering concepts to kids!  Our focus is learning, but we also have tons of fun using LEGO® bricks! There are many educational, developmental and social benefits in our approach to learning.  These lessons are hidden in fun activities with options for every age level. The activities are designed to trigger young children’s lively and creative imaginations and to build their self-confidence. Children work with exciting themes and build live-motion models.

We are currently looking for teachers and teacher assistants in Cleveland West and Lorain County areas for our hands-on after school programs.

After school programs take place at numerous elementary schools throughout the Cleveland and Lorain. Most programs take place between 2:30pm and 5:00pm. This is a part-time position and would be 3-5 days a week with approximately a 1.5 to 2.5 hr. time frame each day.

If you enjoy working with children, playing with Lego building, robotics, coding & programming, and are looking for supplemental income, this is the perfect job for you!

Positions start around beginning of October for the 2018-19 school year with training, assisting, and then taking over your own classes!

Qualifications:

Be at least 18 years old
Be local. You need to already live in the near west side of Cleveland or Lorain County area for this job to work
Love kids! (if you like LEGO building, robotics, coding & programming that helps, too)
Have experience and enjoy working with children ages 5 -12
Have a current driver's license
Have your own personal, reliable transportation; commute required; job cannot be done remotely; Uber/Lyft/friends/relatives, etc. not acceptable as primary sources of transportation
Must be on time and have an excellent work ethic
Have great organization skills
Be able to complete administrative tasks and follow lesson plans
Enjoy math & science concepts
Be able to pass a background check through the New Jersey Board of Education
Sign a non-compete/non-disclosure agreement upon hiring
Preferred - 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or daycare setting.
Preferred - experienced with classroom management with class sizes up to 24 students
Be able to handle a rolling bin with 20-30 pounds worth of LEGO equipment.
Must plan on committing for a full semester at a time
Education: Prefer Minimum of Associates degree in Childhood Development, Science, Engineering or similar background. Will consider applicants with classroom / daycare experience or those pursuing a child development or education degree.
