What is Bricks 4 Kidz?

Bricks 4 Kidz is a hands-on program where students will design and build machines, catapults, pyramids, derby cards, buildings and other constructions out of LEGO® bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills.

What in the world is S.T.E.M?

If you have school aged children, then you have probably heard this buzz word.  STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  Missouri schools are focused on these concepts to enable our kids to compete in the growing high-tech, high-wage jobs of the future.  Bricks 4 Kidz®  is a proud supporter of STEM Education Enrichment for kids.  Our programs drive home these concepts through hands-on creation of proprietary models using Lego® bricks.  All of our programs have been created by science professionals in order to promote early-age exposure to STEM topics while sparking natural curiosity and keeping it fun.

Will my kids enjoy Bricks 4 Kidz® classes?

Oh yah!  We like to call it a learning sneak attack because your kids will have so much fun they won’t realize they are learning.  Preschool children use LEGO® Duplo® blocks to learn colors, letters, counting, and spatial relationships. We use LEGO® bricks, gears, and motors for our basic elementary classes.  As your child grows, we offer builds using LEGO® bricks with remote controls, digital cameras, stop-motion animation movie making and robot programming as the hands-on teaching tools.  When a child is learning in manners that appeal to them, their learning is enhanced and the ability to retain information is greater.

What happens during Bricks 4 Kidz® classes?

All Bricks4 Kidz® classes are executed per our motto: We Learn, We Build, We Play…with LEGO® Bricks.  Every class starts off with a LEARNING experience, followed by the BUILDING challenge, and then children are encouraged to apply their creativity through PLAYING.  A typical 1-hour class follows an outline of 10-15 minutes of the lesson, 25-35 minutes of building, and the final 10-15 minutes for open creative play.

Will Bricks 4 Kidz® classes supplement what my child learns in school?

Bricks 4 Kidz® classes and associated materials align with National and State STEM goals as well as support and promote all fundamental learning that our schools offer in the classroom.  We see our service as providing an outlet for children and families looking for those extra experiences.  Because all of our proprietary build challenges have various degrees of difficulty, we are able to offer benefits for a wide range of children across the age groups of 5 to 12 with ease.  Every one of our builds has numerous pieces of educational materials already created – from Teacher Guides to Historical Lesson Presentations to the Individual Model Plans in differing degrees of difficulty.
