A Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop uses LEGO® Bricks that kids love, to deliver hands-on lessons correlated to cross-disciplinary curriculum objectives. The Bricks 4 Kidz® approach to learning is imaginative, multi-sensory and fun, creating a dynamic learning experience for your students.
Experience our exciting Jr. Robotics and Advanced Robotics classes! Build a motorized model and watch it come to life using simple LEGO® WeDo® software. As your skills improve, advance to LEGO® EV3 Mindstorms® classes for more challenging robot-building and programming!
We learn, we build, we play with LEGO® Bricks
BRICKS 4 KIDZ® – Illinois – Elmhurst – Villa Park – Lombard – Oak Brook – Downers Grove – Westmont
Designed and created by teachers, architects, and engineering professionals, our hands-on curriculum introduces children to concepts of engineering, architecture, and mechanics using Lego® bricks. Math, science, language arts, and social studies lessons are discussed and integrated into each class. We offer a variety of themes such as Transportation, Inventions, Space, Robotics and more. Each theme offers challenging and exciting builds for all skill levels. The age groups below will help you decide which programs are most suitable for your child’s learning.
Baby Builders (Ages 12-36 months)
This program is a perfect balance of building and bonding time for you and your child. Through themed units, your child has an opportunity to work on language development, social awareness, as well as fine and gross motor skills. These classes use music, story-telling, and creative play to enhance your child’s development.
Junior Brick Builders (ages 3-4)
Children will engage in interactive lessons which reinforce counting, patterning, sorting, spatial awareness, and fine motor skills. Some classes begin with a different letter or featured book of the day and includes lots of building time as well as learning activities such as finger-plays, puppets, songs and more. These classes are excellent for beginning builders!
Early Engineers (Ages 5+)
At this stage, children shift from learning to build into building to learn. Children have a blast creating more sophisticated builds using traditional bricks and/or technic Lego® pieces. Model themes include famous architecture, transportation, construction vehicles, and inventions. Teachers will introduce engineering concepts of scale, torque, friction, and gear ratio in these interactive hands-on classes.
Advancing Engineers (ages 7+)
These classes offer motorized builds that incorporate double the pieces along with intricate challenging steps that increase the opportunity for learning and fun! Advancing engineer classes include Jr. Robotics where children are introduced to the basics of computer programming as well as the more advanced Mindstorms classes and camps which offer open-ended challenges to complete. (Ages 9+) For children interested in story-writing and production, our Stop Motion Movie Making classes help bring their stories to life! Previous B4K classes or building with Technic Lego® is recommended.
