landfills and recycling centers, and list ways to reduce garbage and save energy. Scouts will build a motorized model of a garbage truck and learn how garbage can be used to create energy. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills WOLF Achievement 7 requirements –7a, 7b, 7c, 7e.

Duration –1.5 hour

WOLF – Machine Power (Elective)

Learn how machines make our work easier, and discuss the various types of machines and how they are used. Then, build a motorized model of a powerful machine like a bulldozer that can do massive amounts of work in a very short time. Observe a crane model to see how the pulley and crank works. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills WOLF Elective 8 requirements – 8a, 8c and 8d.

Duration – 1.5 hour

BEAR – Sharing Your World with Wildlife (Achievement)

In this workshop, Scouts will learn about wildlife conservation and talk about why animals become extinct. We will discuss the defining characteristics of birds and build a motorized model of a bird with flapping wings. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills BEAR Achievement 5 requirements-5a, 5c, and 5e.

Duration – 1 hour

BEAR – Build a Model (Achievement)

Blasting down a quarter-mile track in just 4.5 seconds, a dragster accelerates faster than a jumbo jet, a fighter jet, or a formula one race car! At the end of the run, the dragster is going more than 300 miles per hour! Scouts will find out how the dragster can go so fast, and learn about the special equipment needed to race these amazing cars. Then scouts will try their hand at building and racing down their own dragster motorized model. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills all BEAR Achievement 21 requirements -21a, 21f and 21g.

Duration – 1 hour

BEAR – Space (Elective)

Much of the amazing information we know about space was collected by satellites. And, many of the objects we use every day, such as cell phones, televisions and GPS devices, rely on
information sent by satellites. Scouts will define the term satellite, and discuss what they are used for. We will focus on the accomplishments of the Voyager satellite missions and build a motorized model of a satellite. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills BEAR Elective 1 requirements –1d, 1e and 1f.

Duration – 1.5 hour

BEAR – Aircraft (Elective)

Explore the curiosity and resourcefulness that led Wilber and Oliver Wright to successfully build and fly the first airplane. Discover how aircrafts have evolved since then and learn about the physics that keeps these machines in the air. Then build your own motorized model of a propeller driven aircraft. Bricks 4 Kidz® BEAR workshop fulfills Elective 6 requirements –6a, 6c, 6e, 6f and 6g.

Duration – 1.5 hour

BEAR – Things That Go (Elective)

Scouts will explore the many sources of energy and learn some of the awesome ways we power our world. In this workshop, we will build a waterwheel and a motorized model of the windmill. And, scouts will get to build a motorized cub mobile and make their own custom modifications after. Bricks 4 Kidz® BEAR workshop fulfills Elective 7 requirements – 7b, 7c and 7d

Duration – 2 hour

WEBELOS – Engineer Badge (Technology Group)

Welcome to the vast and exciting world of engineering. Discover the many types of engineers and how they invent and improve upon all that we do and see. Discuss electricity and the role of an electrical engineer. Learn about basic architecture and build a bridge model like a civil engineer. Observe the crane model and discuss how block and tackle is used. Build a catapult model to get the furthest trajectory like an aeronautical engineer. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills the WEBELOS Engineer Badge requirements – 5, 7, 8 and 9.

Duration – 2 hour

WEBELOS – Geologist (Outdoor Group)

Scouts will build a motorized model of an earthquake and discuss the geological forces that bring about this powerful natural disaster. We will discuss tectonic plates, look at a diagram of the earth showing various plates, and connect these movements to other landforms such mountains and volcanoes. Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop fulfills WEBELOS Geologist Badge requirements – 5, 6 and 7.
