FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.  What are Bricks 4 Kidz After School LEGO® Labs?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz offers creative and challenging classes using LEGO®  bricks, motors, gears, and axles. We provide a unique learning environment where qualified teachers inspire imagination and invention.  We make learning fun!

Q. How long is a Bricks 4 Kidz class?

A. An After School LEGO® Lab lasts for one hour.  Pre-school classes are 45 minutes. In-school field trips are also in 45 minute sessions.

Q. How do I sign my child up for a Bricks 4 Kidz class?

A.  Watch for Bricks 4 Kidz flyers and information to come home with your student.  Sometimes, you register directly through the schools.  In other instances, you can register with us online.  The flyer will give you all the details about the registration process.  Click on Sign up now to see what classes are coming soon!

Q. Do children keep the models they build?

A. For a variety of reasons, this is not possible. Class costs would become prohibitive.  Also, one major educational goal is to teach children skills they can use to make their own unique creations that will increase in difficulty and complexity over time. If children only have multitudes of models and plans to follow that someone else created for them, they will be less likely to use their knowledge of engineering and how things work to make their own inventions. It gives us great joy when a parent tells us that their child came home from class and immediately went to their own LEGO® collection to use their new skills for their own creations.

Q. Do children get to keep anything, or take anything home?

A. At the end of each class, we send the student home with a handout that details what they built and learned that day.  All summer camp attendees will make a custom mini-figure to use throughout the week and take home on the last day. All stop-motion animation camps and classes will include a DVD copy for each child of their all the movies created in their camp or class, including their own.  We also offer t-shirts for the low price of just $5 each.

Q. Are there any fees other than class enrollment costs?

A. No. The only other costs associated with a Bricks 4 Kidz class or event would be for extra optional items, such as a t-shirt. All prices given for classes and events are all-inclusive, and there are never extra fees.

Q. What ages can sign up for a Bricks 4 Kidz class?

A. We offer classes for pre-schoolers (ages 3-5), and elementary age children (ages 6-12).

Q. How many times will Bricks 4 Kidz come to my school each week?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz classes are once per week. Any classes that are cancelled by Bricks 4 Kidz will be made up at no additional charge to parents.

Q. Does Bricks 4 Kidz require their teachers to undergo background checks?

A. Definitely. Every teacher must meet all local school district guidelines in order to teach Bricks 4 Kidz® classes. Our teachers are all fingerprinted and get a comprehensive background check.

Q. Will my child learn anything, or am I paying for them to sit in a room and play with LEGO® bricks?

A. Children learn constantly in Bricks 4 Kidz classes, and have fun doing it. The classes are hands-on applications of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts. They will also learn teamwork through partnering with classmates to build models, and will exponentially increase their problem-solving skills by working through models, which become increasingly complex as their skill levels increase.

Additionally, pre-schoolers work with the alphabet and learn more about animals, famous places, and other interesting and educational topics.

Q. Bricks 4 Kidz does not currently offer classes at my child’s school. How can he/she attend classes?

Some schools require you contact your school’s PTA/PTO/Parent Council.
