A Bricks 4 Kidz® workshop uses LEGO® Bricks that kids love, to deliver hands-on lessons correlated to cross-disciplinary curriculum objectives. The Bricks 4 Kidz® approach to learning is imaginative, multi-sensory and fun, creating a dynamic learning experience for your students.
Experience our exciting Jr. Robotics and Advanced Robotics classes! Build a motorized model and watch it come to life using simple LEGO® WeDo® software. As your skills improve, advance to LEGO® EV3 Mindstorms® classes for more challenging robot-building and programming!
We learn, we build, we play with LEGO® Bricks
BRICKS 4 KIDZ® – Windsor – Ontario – Canada
Our programs provide an extraordinary atmosphere for students to build unique creations, play challenging games and have loads of fun by using LEGO® Bricks, axles, pulleys, gears and motors. Our model plans and activities are designed to trigger the creativity of children by allowing them to follow step by step instruction to complete a project build. Students will reinforce spatial awareness, problem solving and a whole lot of creativity, which in turn help to build their self-confidence. Programs are designed to incorporate concepts including Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in a fun, learning atmosphere.
From toddlers to teens, from pure education to fun….. we’ve got you covered. With hundreds of program models to choose from, including education, robotics to super heroes, let Bricks 4 Kidz® Windsor pave the way for an educational, fun filled experience.
Little Builders (Ages 2 1/2 – 5)
Students will learn interesting facts about real world objects and animals in these interactive lessons which reinforce counting, patterning, spatial awareness and fine motor skills. Each week will focus on a different letter and will include lots of time for building as well as some learning time and a fingerplay or short story related to what is being built.
Early Engineers (Ages 5+)
Students will combine learning and fun as they engage in building with traditional bricks and/or motorized technic Lego® Bricks. Model themes may include Famous Buildings, Transportation, Construction, Inventions, Forces of Nature, Space Adventure Travel, Energy is Everywhere & many more. Teachers will introduce architectural and engineering concepts of scale, torque, friction, gravity, gear ratio, relationships between force, mass and acceleration, work, distance as well as Newton’s Laws in these interactive hands on classes.
Advancing Engineers (Ages 7+)
These classes are designed to give students the opportunity to complete more complex model builds, offering a higher degree of difficulty and skill level. Throughout these classes, students are introduced to Jr. Robotics and are given the opportunity to incorporate computer programming to reflect upon their builds, all while serving as a precursor to the understanding of our advanced Robotics classes or camps using Mindstorm® EV3 Robotics (ages 10+). Advanced Engineer classes offer motorized technic builds which incorporate axles, pulleys, gears, motors and double the number of pieces, providing an excellent opportunity for increased learning and fun! Previous Bricks 4 Kidz classes or building with LEGO® Technic bricks is recommended.
NEW! Coding / Programming / Video Game Design (Ages 8+)
The ability to code is a key component of technology education today. Our coding program will teach students important strategies to enhance their logic and problem-solving skills, as well as help them work toward becoming technological innovators of tomorrow. Our program offers a skill level progression of coding concepts. Students will be introduced to basic coding with a fun, user-friendly coding software.
Advanced Robotics using Mindstorms®- EV3 (Ages 10+)
Experience the cutting edge of technology as students learn to incorporate sensors, build, compute and create a robotic masterpiece. Let our experienced, certified teachers work with your child as they teach the very latest in Robotics incorporating the technology of LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 Robotics. These courses will be offered as weekly workshops, summer camps, as well as after school programs. Due to the timely nature of this program, individual classes may range from 1.5- 2.0 hours. As a precursor to this course, we recommend that students take our “Advancing Engineers” and our “Jr. Robotics” courses.
For those looking to develop and practise story-writing and production, our Stop Motion Movie Making programs help bring their stories to life! Students will create their own movie sets incorporating mini figures and props of which they design, take photos, edit the photos and create their own movie though our computer software program. Each student will be given a copy of their movie.
New Programs are added daily, so please check back often.
