Kim Hart has been a Bricks 4 Kidz franchise owner in Panama City, Florida for more than five years. Kim’s family and business were recently impacted by the devastation and losses caused by Hurricane Michael. Kim and many of her Bricks 4 Kidz students are displaced with no home to return to, as their homes were severely damaged. Kim is facing the expense of a high insurance deductible to repair her home, along with no air conditioning or heat. In addition, she is incurring hotel expenses while being forced to live in another city and dealing with the loss of income while helping rebuild her home and community. Kim had five afterschool classes scheduled in her territory during the fall semester but had to cancel them due to the hurricane. Two of the schools where Kim ran Bricks 4 Kidz afterschool programs were heavily damaged – one school is no longer there, and the other school had to relocate to a church.

Many of the students in Panama City lost everything and are waiting for relocation assistance. The school district is currently running a supply/uniform drive so the children will be prepared with needed supplies when school resumes. In the midst of these difficult circumstances, Kim is providing hope and education for a better future for the children in Panama City by offering Bricks 4 Kidz workshops in the shelters where displaced children and families are living. We are inspired by her spirit of giving to others during her own time of need. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go to Kim Hart to help her rebuild her life in Panama City.
