Bricks 4 Kidz® at Lawson – Indianola Record Herald

Owen Mally, 6, of Des Moines, plays with gears while attending a Bricks 4 Kidz® class held after school at Lawson Elementary School Jan. 8. This session meets four Tuesdays and their unit is ‘Forces of Nature.’ Students learn about different natural phenomenon and explore how, when, where and why they happen. On this day they were studying avalanches. With a partner, children built a LEGO® creation of an amusement park ride. Kids have the opportunity to build moving models representing the motion of that particular force of nature. The program is through Johnston Community Education. The instructor is Maureen George.
