How Many Friends Can I invite?

Most parties have between 10-20 kids. We normally expect that you will invite the birthday child’s class, and this is often 20-24 kids. We can take more than this, but please recognize the following: the typical 5-year-old party will see entire families attend — this can take up a lot of space. The typical 6-year-old party and above usually only has one adult staying per child. From age 7 on, there is a higher rate of parents dropping off. We allow this, with a signed waiver. The number of children attending may also depend on whether or not you encourage or discourage siblings of the invited children. We max out around 60 total guests, and it is very rare to have that many, but we want you to be aware of these potential numbers up front. The more guests attend, the higher the total price of the party.

Birthday Party Themes

Our most popular themes are:

  • The Mandalorian / The Child (Baby Yoda/Grogu)
  • Super Mario
  • Peaches! Peaches! Peaches!
  • MineCraft
  • Avengers
  • Star Wars (Classic Trilogy)
  • Star Wars (Recent Trilogy)
  • Pokemon
  • Harry Potter
  • LEGO Movie 1 & 2
  • LEGO Ninjago Movie

  • Superheroes
  • Marvel Universe (Iron Man, Hulk, Spider-Man, etc.)
  • DC Universe (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc.)

  • Sundays starting at 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:30 pm

Party Length

  • For most parties, 90 minutes is great
  • If you plan to do a meal or open presents, it may be helpful to add the extra 15 minutes to the party time.
  • If you want to do both a meal and presents, then, yes, you should get the add-on.

Other Birthday Party Information

Paper Goods – Includes table coverings, cake plates, plastic forks, plastic spoons, and napkins in theme-appropriate colors.

Mini-Figure Factory – we stock an assortment of random mini-figure (LEGO person) heads, torsos, legs, hats, and hair. Each child will get to “design-their-own” mini-figure to play with during the party and take home at the end of the party. (this feature is included in the Deluxe party packages).

Balloons – we do not provide balloons, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Food – We recommend cake or cupcakes and bottled waters at a minimum. Children are usually more interested in building than spending a lot of time eating, so don’t feel it necessary to overdo it on snacks and foods. We also provide wet wipes after food to ensure the kids hands are clean before going back to building.

Decorations – we are already very “LEGO Theme” decorated. You should not feel the need to bring any additional decorations.

FAQs

Q: How soon should I reserve a party slot?
A: 2-3 months out. While we do occasionally have party slots open less than a month out, most are filling up 6-8 weeks out.
We do not normally accept party requests less than 2 weeks away, even if we might have had the availability, due to staff scheduling constraints.
You may request a party even further out, and we will pencil it in, but we will not finalize booking any sooner than 3 months out.

Q: How does the booking process work?
A: Once you submit the party request, you should get an email copy of it in your inbox. Check to make sure it didn’t go to spam or another folder.
You will normally have a response back from us within 1-2 business days about the availability. Once we’ve confirmed the time and date with you,  we will send you a confirmation email and a deposit invoice. The party is not booked until you have paid the deposit.

Q: Can I do my own invitations? When should I distribute them?
A: Part of the party package is that we create the invitations for you so that you do not have to worry about them. We typically have these ready for you 3-4 weeks ahead of the party, and we recommend you distribute them 2-3 weeks out. We provide a digital copy free of charge, with the option of having printed copies at an extra charge. If you create your own, we require an advance copy in order to confirm the accuracy of the date, starting time, ending time, and address.

Q: When should the party family arrive?
A: 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time is usually plenty of time to arrive, bring in the cake and whatever else you may need to bring in, and make sure you get there before guests.
Q: How many kids and parents can Bricks 4 Kidz accommodate?
A: Most parties have between 10-18 kids. We can take up to 32 kids, depending on age and the number of adults expected. We expect that you are going to invite the birthday child’s class, and this is often 20-24 kids. If you know you’re probably going to expect 32 or more kids, we recommend trying a different venue.

Q: Do parents stay or drop off?
A: For children 7 and older, we often expect that guest parents will drop off, but it is not required. For children turning 5 and 6, we expect a parent to stay for each child in attendance. Due to the limited amount of space, we have a hard limit of 32 children, and if you are getting close to that number of RSVPs, we respectfully request that you ask families to only have
one guardian in attendance for each child guest.
Q: How does the “extra friends” charge work?
A: We don’t count the birthday kid or any siblings they may have against the “friends” count. We also don’t count kids that RSVP’d if they don’t show up. We calculate the final price based on the number of friends that attend.

Q: When do guests usually arrive?
A: Guests typically don’t start arriving until right at the scheduled start time, with most of them there by 10 after, and the last few “fashionably late” stragglers coming in around 15 minutes after the start time.

Q: May I bring balloons?
A: Yes! Feel free!

Q: Can we open presents during the party?
A: Certainly! While most families opt *not* to open presents during our parties to maximize playtime, if you want to, we can either shorten the activity time or add 15 minutes to the party time. During present-opening time we will work with the birthday child to help them find cards to know who each gift is from so we can write down who gave what on a list for you so that you can focus on taking pictures and helping your child enjoy that time.
Q: Can we bring food in?
A: Yes! Most families have cake or cupcakes. Some elect to bring in additional snacks, and some like to bring in a meal. If you plan to order pizza, ask us in advance about who we currently find to be reliable. Chick-fil-A party trays are great (if it’s not Sunday!). Bear in mind that if you want to do a meal, it takes extra time out of playtime, and we recommend selecting the 15-minute add-on as part of your package.
Q: Do I need to worry about any food allergies?
A: We endeavor to be a nut-free zone at Bricks 4 Kidz — so, we respectfully request no peanuts, no tree nuts, and no peanut butter. Beyond that, whatever you would do for your child’s school to be cognizant of allergies, is probably the best we can expect. We make the assumption that if a parent of a child with food allergies allows their child to come to one of our parties, the parent and child already have a plan in place for what that child will or will not eat in various encounters.

Q: What should we bring for drinks?
A: We request that you NOT bring anything that will need to be poured up. It is time-consuming and increases the risk of a spill and an additional cleaning charge.
Packaged drinks such as Capri Suns, Juice Boxes, and 8-ounce bottled waters (not the big 20-ounce ones!!!) are perfect.
Q: What other decorations should I bring?
A: We discourage bringing decorations as our venue is already very eclectically decorated with a lot of LEGO paraphernalia, and we will have a “Happy Birthday” with your child’s name built out of LEGO on our building wall.

Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule my party? Can I get a refund?
A: Deposits are non-refundable, though we can transfer the party to another time and date as available.

Q: Can we do a double party? Is there a price difference?
A: Yes we do double parties. The only extra charge on the base price is $15 for the extra T-Shirt.

Q: Should my party have pizza even if it’s mid-afternoon?
A: It’s really up to you! Either way, we will make sure it fits into our party outline.

Q: If I get pizza, where should I order from?
A: Ask us about pizza deliveries. Occasionally we recommend one pizza place over another, but they tend to go through phases of competence. We are not currently recommending Domino’s even though it is the closest, UNLESS, you order in advance, and show up in person at the store before the party to get a verbal confirmation that they will have your pizza ready on time. Lately, Pizza Hut and Papa John’s have been doing a better job with delivery.

Q: What time should I order the pizza to be ready?
A: 45 minutes before the end of the party. So:

– for a 9:00-10:30 party – no meals
– for a 10:00-11:30 party – 10:45
– for an 11:30-1:00 party – 12:15
– for an 11:30-1:15 party – 12:30
– for a 2:00-3:30 party – 2:45
– for a 2:00-3:45 party – 3:00
– for a 4:30-6:00 party – 5:15
– for a 4:30-6:15 party – 5:30
