Bio-Inspirational Robotic Design

Bio-inspiration seeks to understand biological systems and elements and apply them to human engineering challenges. In this camp we’ll learn about some of the most fascinating engineering applications of biological processes, and demonstrate these systems by building our own motorized LEGO models. From smart buildings and materials modeled after systems in the human body, to robots that perform a variety of jobs by mimicking the movement of animals, students will be introduced to robotic technology of the future. Campers will then learn to use the LEGO WeDo software to program their own robotic LEGO models.  Even if you attended our robotic camps in previous years, the models, science lessons, and activities are all new.

$150 for the week. Ages 6+(campers must have completed kindergarten). All campers take home a Bricks 4 Kidz drawstring bag.

If you have a daughter who is interested in this camp, but is worried about being outnumbered by boys, we have a significant number of girls enrolled the week of June 15-19.

Mining and Crafting Camp

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night, monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world for Minecraft with LEGO bricks in this fun summer camp. Campers will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools using LEGO bricks. Campers will face new challenges each day, building models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game.

$150 for the week. Ages 6+(campers must have completed kindergarten). All campers take home a Bricks 4 Kidz drawstring bag.

We just added another session of our Mining and Crafting Camp in Kirkwood the week of August 3-7 from 9am-12pm.

Clash of Bricks

Gather your barbarians and archers! It’s time for battle…Bricks 4 Kidz style! Collect and store gold and elixir to train troops and build villages. You must stop at nothing to defend your village from enemy attacks! Experience the thrill of battling barbarians, greedy goblins, powerful PEKKAs, and wild wall breakers, from the popular game Clash of Clans.

$150 for the week. Ages 6+(campers must have completed kindergarten). All campers take home a Bricks 4 Kidz drawstring bag.

Mindstorms Advanced Robotics

Bricks 4 Kidz Mindstorms Advanced Robotics introduces students to real-life robotic technology using the LEGO Mindstorms EV3. Students experiment in teams to build robots and write programs that challenge them to find creative solutions to problems. Students will learn to use an array of sensors, motors, and intelligent units to design robots that accomplish various tasks. This camp is a fun and challenging introduction to the world of robotics for the advanced LEGO enthusiast. If you have never used the Mindstorms EV3 robots before, we will teach you everything you need to know to program and build your own robots.

$185 for the week. Ages 9+ (campers must have completed 3rd grade). All campers take home a Bricks 4 Kidz drawstring bag.

Movie Making 101

Our ever-popular Moive Making 101 camp returns! Lights, cameras, LEGO action! Use LEGO bricks to tell YOUR story, complete with music, special effects and all your favorite LEGO mini-figure characters! In this unique and creative camp, students will plan, script, stage, shoot, and produce their own mini-movie using Stop Motion Animation. Working in teams of 3, students will use LEGO components to build the set and props, then shoot their movie using a camera. Teams will use movie-making software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. When the movie is complete, campers will impress friends and family with a screening party on the last day of camp. Don’t miss your chance to be a movie producer!

$185 for the week. Ages 7+ (campers must have completed 1st grade). All campers take home a Bricks 4 Kidz drawstring bag and a data CD of their movie creation at the end of the week.
