Master Builders Camp

 

June 8-12.  9:00-Noon

Join Bricks 4 Kidz for a week of master LEGO models and competing with LEGO challenges and games. Campers will have fun as they compete against themselves in LEGO master builder challenges and build their old favorites and new favorites. We will teach new building techniques, learn new LEGO vocabulary and challenge their building skills each day. No matter if your child is a Master Builder in training or already a Master Builder, we have the camp for them!

Week at the Museum Camp

June 15-19    9:00-Noon

 

You saw it in the movies. But now let Bricks 4 Kidz bring your favorite bits of history to life in our very first Week At The Museum LEGO® Camp, based on the popular Night At The Museum movie series!  Explore history in this LEGO® exhibition that will see your child become an adventurous archeologist, uncovering the wonders of the world with Indiana Jones and other famous explorers, discovering renowned artifacts from the dinosaurs and caveman of the pre-historic era, pharaohs and mummies from ancient Egypt, Atilla the Hun, Lewis and Clark, Cowboys and Indians, and much more!
We start the week digging up the LEGO® fossil remains of the T-Rex, raptors, and other dinosaurs from Jurassic World, then take our adventure to Egypt to excavate the pharaohs and mummies buried beneath the LEGO® pyramids of Giza. Next, we will learn about Atilla the Hun, and all of the Roman Empires he conquered by creating LEGO® landmarks, LEGO® robotic warriors, and much more. Other eras explored will include the Cowboys and Indians of the Wild Wild West, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Industrial Revolution, and more!

Bricks and Tricks Magic Camp

June 29-July 3    9:00-Noon

 

The LEGO® Company has made its name on working with some of the most popular movies and shows your kid’s love to watch! And their magic keeps on coming, so we will be creating a little magic of our own with our very first LEGO® Bricks and Tricks Magic Camp!

This week of camp using LEGO® bricks will have our campers building magical worlds and characters from some of the most popular movies, tv shows, and toys such as Harry Potter, Trolls, Frozen, How To Train Your Dragon, Jumanji, The Hobbit, and much more! Campers will create LEGO® robotic Harry Potters that fly on their broomsticks and Elsa’s ice castle, all out of LEGO® bricks! They will make their own magic with Poppy, Branch, and the rest of the Trolls one day, and defend their castles from fire-breathing dragons with magical spells and wizards the next. AND they will learn a few magic tricks of their own they can perform for their family and friends at home!

Galaxy Far Away Camp

July 6-10    9:00-Noon

 

Join us on an adventurous journey through space! Build the Redstone Rocket to blast through the atmosphere into a realm that is truly out of this world. Travel back in time to build NASA’s Gemini Capsule. Trust your astronaut’s building skills to pilot a spacecraft that will bring you back to Earth safely. We’ll build motorized models that represent spacecraft from your favorite popular space movie. Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away!

Robotics 101 Camp (1st-4th grade)

July 6-10    1:00-4:00

How would you like to turn your next LEGO creation into a robot, programmed to do exactly what you tell it to do? The Bricks 4 Kidz Junior Robotics camp (Robotics 101) offers all the fun of building with LEGO bricks, PLUS the challenge of computer programming and coding! Using drag-and-drop icon-based software, WeDo software provides an introduction into the world of computer-programming and robotics that will equip children to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. This fun, action-packed week combines real-life skills with real-kid fun!

This camp is designed for beginning robotics campers entering 1st-4th grade in the fall.  If your student is entering 4th grade or has previous robotics experience, take a look at our Robotics 201 class for 4th-7th grader where we code and use LEGO Ev3 robots and have a competition at the end of the week.

World of Imagination Camp

July 13-17    9:00-Noon

Get excited for a World of Imagination! At Bricks 4 Kidz, join the adventure as we dive into the world of Disney, beginning with classics such as Mickey and Minnie. Do you want to build a snowman? How about an adventure under the sea? LEGO Bricks come to life as we travel through Disney’s most popular charac​ ters and themes. Spark your imagination as we build your Disney inspired favorites!

Minecraft Building Camp

July 13-17    1:00-4:00

This is one of our most popular camps year after year and we see kids building with us for multiple years!

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world of Minecraft with LEGO bricks in this fun camp. Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools using LEGO® bricks. Students will face new challenges each day, building models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game.

Robotics 201: EV3 Building and Programing Camp

July 20-24    1:00-4:00

(4th-8th grade students)

Experience the cutting edge of technology with the introduction of LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Robotics. Students will be captivated as they incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors and software by programming their commands directly into the intelligent brick. Campers can test their capabilities during a competition at the end of the week as they complete as a team with challenging tasks around our robotics mat. We will start with the basics of how to build your bot then work on programing and problem solving. If your child is brand new to robotics, or has competed on a local robotics team, they will have a great time at this camp.

THIS CAMP IS NOT FOR YOUNGER BUILDERS. If you have a younger builder, sign them up for our Robotics 101 camp.

Space Adventure and NASA Camp

July 27-31    9:00-Noon

Inspired by NASA and Star Wars, our Space Adventures Camp is packed full of models that will make your imagination blast off! Each day, campers will learn about real-life space exploration and build models related to the NASA space program. In addition, the day includes LEGO Star Wars themed models, group games, challenges and more. Bricks 4 Kidz Space Adventure camp provides the spark for imagination and creativity to take off on an adventure that’s out of this world!

Model Designer and LEGO Art Camp

July 27-31    1:00-4:00

How do LEGO model designers come up with their ideas? Where do they begin, and how do the ideas go from concept to completion? This camp will explore the creative process of model design. Campers will learn the function of different LEGO components and discover how those components can work together to create all kinds of solid structures, moving parts and even LEGO mosaic and brick artwork!

 

Morning Camps are 9:00-Noon

We will be offering a limited amount of half day camps this summer.  For half day camps, doors open at 8:55 and pick up is at noon.  If you need to drop off your child early or pick up late, you now have the option to email us about “Early OR Late Pickup” options.   Before Camp Fun is from 8:00-9:00 and After Camp Fun is from 12:00-1:00.  You must email emcfarland@bricks 4 Kdiz.com to register for extended hours one week prior to the start of camp. The cost for Early Drop-off OR late pick up is $35 per week or $60 per family.  

Afternoon Camps are 1:00-4:00

Please Register your child for a camp designed for their age.  Please do not register your children for a camp if they are not in the appropriate age range. Your children will learn more and enjoy the camps more if they are in the correct age camp.    If you have questions about our age rage or if a younger student is interested in attending with an older sibling, please call or email us before registering.  

Campers do not need to attend the school or organization where our weeklong summer camps are held. 

Camp changes, refunds, and prices for our 2020 summer camps 

We want to make registering for camp as easy as possible for parents and campers so we are changing the refund policy for this summer.  Like in previous years, all Summer 2020 camps require a $25 nonrefundable registration fee for each camp.  You can switch your child to another week of camp  (if there is availability in that camp) or cancel your camp registration all together up to the day before camp and receive a 100% refund minus the $25 registration fee.  If you choose for your child to not come to camp or they are not felling well, you can use the $25 registration fee for LEGO items and other fun merchandise at the Bricks and Bots store located inside of Sci-Port.
