FAQ’S

Q. What are Bricks 4 Kidz® After School Classes?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz® offers creative and challenging classes using LEGO® bricks, motors and remote controls. We provide a unique learning environment where qualified teachers inspire imagination and invention. We make learning fun.

Q. How long is a Bricks 4 Kidz® class?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz® classes last for one hour.

Q. How do I sign my child up for a Bricks 4 Kidz® class?

A. Parents can easily register their child online or through the school/recreational center that your child attends.

Q. Do children keep the models they build?

A. For a variety of reasons, this is not possible. Class costs would become prohibitive; also, one major educational goal is to teach children skills they can use to make their own unique creations that will increase in difficulty and complexity over time. If children only have multitudes of models and plans to follow that someone else created for them, they will be less likely to use their knowledge of engineering and how things work to make their own inventions.

Q. Do children get to keep anything, or take anything home?

A. Yes. Each session we will provide a different take-home item.

Q. Does the Bricks 4 Kidz® curriculum meet Georgia state educational standards?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz® curriculum meets the established national standards, which Georgia follows.

Q. What ages can sign up for a Bricks 4 Kidz® class?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz® offers classes for pre-schoolers (ages 3-5), and elementary age children (ages 6-12).

Q. How many times will Bricks 4 Kidz® come to my school each week?

A. Bricks 4 Kidz® classes are once per week.

Q. Does Bricks 4 Kidz® require their teachers to undergo background checks?

A. Definitely. Every teacher must meet state and county guidelines in order to teach Bricks 4 Kidz® classes. A local background check is required, and Bricks 4 Kidz®, Augusta, GA performs national background and record checks through the FBI.

Q. Will my child learn anything, or am I paying for them to sit in a room and play with LEGO® bricks?

A. Children learn constantly in Bricks 4 Kidz® classes, and have fun doing it. The classes are hands-on applications of math, science, engineering, and technology concepts. They will also learn teamwork through partnering with classmates to build models, and will exponentially increase their problem-solving skills by working through models, which become increasingly complex as their skill levels increase.

Additionally, pre-schoolers work with the alphabet and learn more about animals, famous places, and other interesting and educational things.

Q. Bricks 4 Kidz® does not currently offer classes at my child’s school. How can he/she attend classes?

A. If your child’s school is not currently offering Bricks 4 Kidz® classes, contact your school administrator. We would be happy to do all we can to accommodate after-school classes in any school.

Q. How do I set up a FREE Bricks 4 Kidz® trial class at my child’s school/daycare?

A. This would easily be done in collaboration with the school administration. Usually, when a parent expresses a desire for the school to offer something beneficial to its students/members, it is very easy to schedule a free trial class.

Q. How can I pay for a Bricks 4 Kidz® class?

A. You can pay by check, but the easiest way to pay is through our secure, online payment system. Some schools require that  you to sign up through the school.

Q. My child missed a class because he/she was sick, we went out of town, etc. Do I have to pay for that class?

A. Parents will need to contact us about any makeup classes for absences. We will not always be able to accommodate a request to lower a session fee based on makeup classes, depending on the situation. In instances where this is allowed, Bricks 4 Kidz® cannot refund a class fee for a session that has already been paid in full; if a makeup class is allowed, a class fee will be waived in the next 4 week session to accommodate for the makeup class.

Q. What other special events and services does Bricks 4 Kidz® offer?

A. We do camps, birthday parties, and in -school field trips.
