In-School Workshops

Bricks 4 Kidz ® has exciting “in-school workshop” opportunities for you and your students!
A Bricks 4 Kidz ® in-school workshop uses the LEGO ® Bricks students love, to deliver hands-on lessons related to cross-disciplinary curriculum objectives. The Bricks 4 Kidz ® approach to learning is imaginative, multi-sensory and fun, creating a dynamic learning experience for your students.
Bricks 4 Kidz ® models are the centerpiece of the lesson, which includes an educator-scripted discussion designed to engage students in a discovery process. Screened*, trained Bricks 4 Kidz ® teachers deliver everything needed for a 60-minute lesson, including LEGO ® Bricks, model plans, and take-home materials.
Many in-school workshop themes are available, such as “Interesting Inventions”, “Amazing Animals” and “Space Exploration”, covering subjects such as simple machines and laws of motion. We can even design a program specifically tailored to your curriculum!
EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL BENEFITS
Educational:
- Model builds take learning out of the pages of the textbook and into an imaginative, 3-dimensional, hands-on learning experience.
- Students retain more when lessons are delivered in the context of something that interests them, such as playing with Lego® bricks.
- Hands- on classes engage visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles.
- Bricks 4 Kidz ® programs teach concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Developmental:
- Fine-motor skills are developed as children sort and assemble small bricks, axles, gears and bushings.
- Completing a model build nurtures problem solving skills, process-oriented thinking and abstract thought, challenging students to envision the project before it is complete.
- Working to complete a model build develops goal-oriented persistence.
- Students gain practice following step-by-step directions to complete a task; this is especially valuable for children with attention-deficit challenges.
- Organizational skills are developed by using our labeled project kits. Children are more efficient when they can quickly and easily access the materials they need to complete a task.
Social-emotional:
- Children work in teams of two; patience, communication, teamwork and cooperation are exercised in the process of completing a model build.
- Children develop confidence as they complete increasingly more challenging model builds
- With the Bricks 4 Kidz ® approach, curiosity is highly encouraged, initiative is invited and self-expression & creativity are celebrated!
